According to legend, it took its name from a brunette, Daphne, a Greek woman with piercing black eyes, who enchanted the German winemaker Gustavus Klaus.Mavrodaphne is a unique variety of the Greek vineyard. It put Greece on the world map of sweet dessert Port-type wines.It has a characteristic aroma, a deep taste and colour, and undergoes years of ageing.Enjoy cooled, after a meal or as a liqueur. Ideally paired with dark chocolate desserts, in a tasty coexistence that excites the palate. Also great with nuts, as well as blue cheeses such as Roquefort and Stilton.
